want to get DV video footage from one laptop to another. I figured
as both connect to a DV cam and have DV editing software on them,
that it'd be as easy.
the simplest way I can think of then, not being able see exactly
what wireless and firewire issues you are having, is to dump the
file onto a 'shared' USB drive and write/read document from
there..Alternatively you can network the two computers via a hub if
you have one...
No USB drive or hub here unfortunately. Just blank DVDs and a
4GB SD card. Lol.
There is another way, but it's not an elegant solution...
I can transfer the video back to MiniDV tape and then from tape
back to the other laptop. There should be no lose of quality, but
it'll be in real time - so a few hours worth!

So true! I then had a brainstorm, why not use wireless networking? Can't fathom that out, way too many options, too confusing. I got nowhere!
